EHSAR at Glance
Education, Health, Social Awareness & Rehabilitation (EHSAR) Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political Humanitarian Relief and Social Development Organization working for the betterment of vulnerable population of Pakistan, and to enhance the capacity of the masses to respond to their basic needs and lives in a dignified way, without disturbing their norms value and culture.
EHSAR Foundation was established by a team of well professional and dedicated individuals in October 2005 and supported the affected population in the devastated Earthquake 2005. EHSAR Foundation continued its services for the masses of the country, especially for marginalized and deprived communities in the operational area, according to its capacity and resources.
EHSAR was registered with Department of Social Welfare under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961 (XLVI of 1961) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in August 2007, with registration # DSW / NWFP – 2804. EHSAR has also signed MoU with EAD till 2023, while charity commission certificate has been also issued, EHSAR has registered with EOBI and have NPO certification issued by PCP/FBR.
EHSAR works “To support & strengthen human resources and institution for the promotion of sustainable development at the grass root level”. This aim would achieve with the close collaboration of partner communities, Government and organizations through a participatory, demand responsive, gender and poverty sensitive integrated development approach in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Merged Districts. EHSAR has provided services in different sectors i.e., Health, Protection & Legal Aid Assistance, Shelter/NFIs, WASH, community services, Food Security & livelihood, Physical Infrastructure Development and awareness diffusion programs towards sustainable rural development.
EHSAR plans to leave no stone unturned in order to make its mission accomplished, for that EHSAR has branched out its thematic working area, i.e., Health, Community Services, Protection & legal Aid assistance, Reintegration and Justice provision on doorstep, Shelter, Food security & Livelihood, community physical infrastructure development, WASH, Relief & rehabilitation and reconstruction. We are working with the rural masses of Merged Districts, settled Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan for enhancing their standard of life through community organization & Awareness, livelihood improvement, health care and hygiene promotion, Human settlement and last but not the least the provision of Protection, reintegration, and Justice at community level.
-- Core Areas of Work --
EHSAR implemented 48 projects in almost all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Merged Districts in different sector of interventions and supported the marginalized and vulnerable communities including Afghan refugees accordingly. Out of 48 projects, 30 projects were/are on Health sector (PHC, DTC, ARI, HFA, and Health Infrastructure Development), whereas 23 projects were purely on Primary Health Care (PHC) services, 05 Projects on WASH, 05 Project on shelter/NFIs and number of integrated projects in Shelter/WASH, Health/Education/WASH etc.
The following are the details of EHSAR core competencies:
Health (Primary Health, Mother & Child Health, Mental Health, Reproductive Health)
Health and Hygiene Education & Awareness Program (i.e., HIV Aids, Hepatitis, Reproductive health, TB, Breast feeding, and particularly Human friendly Environment)
Human settlement through Shelter/NFIs and awareness of the masses, according to the local culture and development
Protection, Illicit trafficking, Narcotics, GBV and Child Rights
Championing the congenital rights of children, (i.e., good health and education)
Right-Based Activities (RBAs), (i.e., women empowerment, rehabilitation of the widows through vocational trainings and providing patronage to the orphans, Persons with disabilities & Elderly persons and Protection (Child protection, GBV and Minority Rights)
Legal Aid (to provide free legal aid to the oppressed men women and children)
Community Physical Initiatives (CPIs) & Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation of Depressed/Disabled masses, Victims, Economic Reintegration, Vocational Skill Development, WASH, Shelter, Food security, Livelihood, Clean Drinking Water) and Emergency Services.
Human and Institutional Development (HID) coordinate with other programs and policies (governmental and non-governmental) to build a broad, coherent and sustainable framework aimed at enhancing health, education and mobilizing massive support for the same.
